Currawong Collective – A new Steiner Waldorf initiative for Geelong

We aim to encourage a thoughtful, authentic, and nurturing environment for young children and their families. Taking inspiration from Steiner Waldorf education in using song, rhythm, ritual, seasonal celebrations and storytelling to create an environment rich in nature, creativity, and joy.
To encourage and support children and families to strengthen their own capabilities through unhurried open-ended play, risky play, and the use of real tools and natural materials to explore the world around them. To respect, learn and grow in our capacity to create a safer and inclusive space where all families feel a sense of belonging.
We are a member of Playgroup Victoria and run a weekly playgroup in Geelong on Wednesday mornings from 10am-12 for children 7 and under and their families – covered for public liability insurance and property damage.

We acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation, as traditional custodians of the land, skies, and waterways on which we meet and play. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded and support First Nation’s peoples’ voice to parliament, and ambitions for a better future for First Nations’ children.
We are committed to promoting a culturally safe, anti-bias environment for all children and their families to grow, play, and learn, inclusive of all cultures, languages, abilities, and identities including LGBTQIA+.
